How to start data taking

Turn on computers and other hardwares

Start services
All services listed below start automatically when computer is
booted. Normally you need to do nothing about that.
- mserver (megonln01)
mserver publishes ODB to network. If it fails to start,
please start it manually.
/usr/local/bin/mserver
or
/etc/init.d/mserver start
It is required by all processes which access
ODB. Experiments are defined in /etc/exptab of
megonln01.
- mhttpd (megonln01)
mhttpd gives http interface for run control. If it fails
to start, please start it manually.
/usr/local/bin/mhttpd -D
or
/etc/init.d/mhttpd start
- btp/camdrv (megonln01)
These are device drivers for VME and CAMAC interface
card. If it fails you may need to re-install. In that
case, see here.

Start programs
- Open meglnon01 and start all programs.
- lpframework.exe
(megonln01)
ssh -X muegamma@megonln01;
cd lpframework/;
./lpframework.exe;
- meg-lpt.vi
(megsc01)
meg-lpt.vi is a virtual instruments of Labview. It
controls slow devices via MSCB except for HV. To start
it, double click the meg-lpt.vi icon on the desktop.
- HV edit
(megsc01 or Windows PC in the counting house)
HV edit is a GUI application to control HV. To start
it, double click the HV edit icon on the desktop.

Open meglnon01.
