The geometry of the MEG detector is designed by Mechanical Desktop (MDT). The common information on the geometry can be owned jointly with the CAD files among the collaborators.
| Detector | File name | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| Magnet | magnet.awg, magnet.xls | coils, outermost vessels |
| LXe calorimeter | calorimeter.awg, calorimeter.xls | LXe, inner vessel, outer vessel |
| Drift chamber | chamber.awg, chamber.xls | outline |
| Timing counter | tof.awg, tof.xls | outline |
| Assembly | assembly.awg, assembly.xls | - |
Excel file (*.xls) is optional. It describes the same parameters on
the geometry as used in the corresponding CAD file (*.awg). If the
table of the global variables on the MDT is linked to the Excel
file, versions with different sets of the parameter values are
easily handled by using the Excel file.
The file, assembly.awg is made by putting together all the CAD
files considering the detector arrangement. If necessary, the
information of each detector component can be exported to the
external CAD file which will be equivalent to the CAD file
originally provided for each detector component. Modification to
the exported CAD file will be reflected in the assembly.awg. The
detector picture drawn by using assembly.awg is shown here. PS file
of the picture (17MB!) is
also available.

Some drawings with the detector dimensions produced by the CAD files are also available.
